Evidence Based Research
Research is integral to validate the effectiveness of a program and to determine if the program is contributing to the desired effect for which it was intended. NCTI values research and has implemented a Division of Research and Evidence Based Practices to address the issues of program strength and efficacy.
Review of the research indicates that programs utilizing NCTI's cognitive curricula contribute significantly to offender change when delivered following the NCTI model. The research also indicates that there is an attitude change and an awareness that occurs which assists offenders in developing pro-social attitudes and behaviors; this in turn results in increased community safety. It is also shown that these changes occur on both the adult and juvenile levels and with low and high risk offenders when appropriate curriculum is delivered.
